Pizza Centro
Santa Fe, New Mexico
Pizza Centro gourmet pizzeria contracted Think for updated branding and website design to expand its reach throughout the Santa Fe area, where many locals are already familiar with its delicious New York-style slices. Our logo design centers on a bold circular graphic with a single letter inside to mimic New York City’s iconic subway maps and signage. Owner Nathan Aufrichtig worked with us in developing the logo for all three locations, at the Santa Fe Design Center, Southside, and Eldorado Agora. For the restaurant’s advertising campaign, we focused again on iconic New York imagery with an image of the city’s famous skyline to reinforce the New York-style pizza-focused identity.
The owners were also looking for a clean, simple website design to showcase their menus, hours, rave reviews, and directions for would-be customers in search of a quick bite. For their famed New York style pies, the circular navigation buttons in bold primary colors reflect the Big Apple’s iconic subway maps and graphics in a bold primary color palette. A black and white New York City skyline appears as a dynamic, full-screen background. Using a simple, modern font from the Google Webfonts collection which will appear across browsers and devices, and semi-transparent text boxes for the body of the site, we worked to give Pizza Centro’s online presence an urban vibe as well as an integrated feel with the design of their physical locations.
For Pizza Centro’s t-shirt design, we created a custom hand-drawn illustration inspired by a subway map of the Big Apple—bringing forward the names of each neighborhood namesake for the pies on Pizza Centro’s menu. Special ‘local flavor’ was given to the individual drawings, to play off the character of each neighborhood (and specialty pizza!).
