Founded in 1975 and celebrating over 40 years of fine art, Martin Lawrence Galleries is the largest in the US, with ten locations nationally—from New York, San Francisco, and Boston, to Dallas, Chicago, Maui, and more. The gallery has loaned major works to over three dozen museums worldwide, including art by Calder, Chagall, Picasso, Warhol, and many others. With backgrounds as visual art and art history majors and a lifelong love of fine art, Think All Day is honored to have been chosen to create the new website design and programming for all ten Martin Lawrence Galleries. After working closely with the team for over 9 months, we launched this massive project in time to mark their 40th anniversary as well as their twice-annual 1,000-piece fine art auction season.
Special design features include our revamp of the site architecture and intuitive user experience improvements: an impactful homepage design with prominent easy-to-edit call to action buttons and a masonry grid of work by top artists linked onward to detailed information, drop-down menus showcasing previews of artwork and gallery storefronts, and filters for searching auctions by artist, medium, lot, and suite, as well a beautiful exhibition format giving information on happenings at all ten locations. Social media and email sign-up are integrated, along with specific contact information, maps with custom pins and image rollovers, and contact information for each director.
Jackie and Kristin flew to Martin Lawrence Galleries’ Los Angeles headquarters to provide onsite design meetings and in-person training sessions with the staff, and the gallery is now empowered to make all of its updates for artists, news, auctions, team, and all other information and imagery in-house. What a visual feast and fantastic experience this website design project has been—and to top it all off, what a treat to work with such a thoughtful and incredible marketing director from start to finish behind the scenes (a million thanks to you, Gary, the best)!
